Royalties From My Teaching Products Explained. Sort of.

Three days ago I received a check from

.

They are a company that sells just about anything you'd need for "doing science" or teaching it. Over several years, I've had eight different products sold by them. I've enough money for my wife and I make two trips to England during summer vacations.

The first product I sold to them was DESCENDENT DISCS.

Pairs of students pulled "disks" labeled with different human traits on them, from a sack and placed them on the table. When sack was empty, the pair of students determined the phenotype of the imaginary person they produced.

The returned to the disks to the bag, shook it, and pulled the disks again. The second time the sack was empty, the pair of students determined the phenotype of another imaginary person they produced.

It was almost impossible to get the same combination of traits twice, so it was a visual demonstration of why brothers and/or sisters aren't identical.

It was one of their best selling items for several years, but they pulled it from their catalogue when the Notational Science Standards were adopted.

My current check was for $273.71. That's for the items sold from January to June of this year. I don't know how many sets of

They sell the kit for $341.89. I think I get 5% royalty, but I can't find the contract. However, if my math is correct, they sold only 16 kits between January and June. That's most likely they're listing it as a CLOSEOUT.

While I wish they'd sold more, I can't blame them for dropping it because the kit contains over 100 items and contains several items that must be copied for each class.

BTY: I ONLY HAD TO CORRECT ONE ITEM WHEN I RAN THIS THROUGH THE MS WORD APP.
